I have a 765 lt and a pista , drove a 296 and I’ll give a simple breakdown , the 296 is comfy and super usable , it’s insane fast, the handling is next level, it’s daily capabilities are nuts, what Ferrari has done is give you pista level track feel and then a comfortable daily. The power in the 296 is intoxicating. The 765lt is just a thrill machine , not everyone can handle the speed this things puts out , also the lightness is wild, the thing is , you don’t want to drive it daily , it’s a wild wild ride , the senna seats , which are not uncomfortable but they are race seats and work very well. You basically want a 296 if you want comfort explosive speed , and 765 if you want a roller coaster
I have ordered a 296 GTS and i think you’re totally right. It really goes down to personal preferences. I have to say i’ve never driven a McLaren but I’ve tried out so many cars and found out i love a multipurpose one. My favorite was the 911 GTS (even vs 812 Superfast which was too heavy imho). When I tried the 296 I knew it would be the definitive Berlinetta, the car that really meets my needs. In conclusion, even when 2 cars like these seem almost identical in their purpose, you’ll find out they are totally different and you’ll be the only judge for yourself when choosing one. Either way, what fantastic machines!!!
@@TheLOL4DUDE Hearing multipurpose 296 gts is crazy. Good on you sir.
@@recursion. thank you kind sir! all that is left now is to wait until Jan 2025 to drive the car :l the fantastic world of supercar's delivery schedule
To the guys who have driven / ordered the 296, Can you give your opinions on the 296 GTB v Huracan Perfomante. They are similar prices atm, Perf would be a Spyder but rather would like opinions on the other factors. Also considering will not know how much value the 296 will hold, while the Perf is likely to be stable and also increase over the next few years when new hybrid models are released. Thanks
@@HarkyOfficial I think you are mixing it up a bit. Perf holds value and will hold it for sure but you have to take into account a very low mileage. If you get a car considering its future value, you're bound to park it in the garage and use it twice a month, wait 3-4 years to have fewer models on the marketplace and then place your car on sale for 500k easy steal. If you want to live your Perf then you'd be looking at a 350k MAX future value because you're gonna trash it on track days, go on adventures with her etc etc. I can't give you a specific advice because i don't know you, don't know your intentions. The 296 as i said is a complete package: style, speed (a lot faster than the Lambo on highways, like, A LOT) comfy, predictable future value. The Lambo on the other hand is a wild ride. Stiff, screaming V10, fire spitting. That's a pure supercar feeling BUT human nature tends to grow a habit about things and even your Lambo will become a bit dull on some later days, almost too noisy, nervous. It goes down on what you want from a car: use it often? Get the 296, cause if you'll use the Perf you'll be losing a lot in value. Want to use it twice a month for short rides? get the Lambo and live the thrill. Is this your first supercar? Get the Lambo and try to break even when selling ;-) do not use it too much, after 3 years MAX 25k miles. Hope you'll have fun whatever car you'll end up buying!

Nice to see this "fully spec'd 765LT" is well looked after.
🤦♂️
That McLaren is out of this world! Sounds ballistic
Such an exciting car to drive!
Well done mark - great review . 👍
Thank you!
Great comparison, superb cars!
Thanks Nuri. Which one would you buy??
Great production!!!
Grazie
Lovely orange accents on the Mclaren. Really comes together.
I take the 296 any day!! Gorgeous , amazing machine and faster on real world!
Just imagine an Evo version in the future
The 296 GTS looks so elegant and makes a great daily driver too!
sounds better too
McLaren for me
hahah 😂 soxiety is finished
great cinematography .
Thanks
Amazing and riveting video.
Thank you for the positive feedback.
Ownership is just outright scary on the McLaren with high spare parts cost. Hard to own one after the warranty runs out
In the end, it will all come down to which of them breaks down less often.
Fun review however a more fair comparison would be between the 296 and the 720s/750s.
And I’d later compare the track focused 296 “Pista” or whatever they’ll call it, to the 765!
The 765LTS is around £350k on the used market and a new 296 GTS is around £320/340k. They have the same top speed of 205mph. They both accelerate to 100kmph in nearly identical times. Therefore I think they have enough in common to compare. As you know the 296 Pista is not out until 2024, so impossible to film.
@@888mf4yes but the 765lt is a track focused car so ofcourse the mac is more exciting. The 296 isn’t the track focused version so is made for daily use. So it’s not a good comparison. You can’t compare cars just because they have the same top speed numbers😂
@@888mf4then you could also compare an LMP prototype to the 296. 750s would’ve been a better fit nevertheless intersting video
Amazing cars and two of my favorites. They are both supercars, but with slightly different targets. The 765LT is the barely civilized, limited edition, ultimate track focused version of thee 720S, while the 296 is the "base", if you could call such a machine base, version of the 296 lineup. If and when Ferrari makes a "VS" type model for the 296, i think it would be more comparable. The new 750S is probably really the apples to apples showdown. That the 296 could even approach the performance of an LT car is a truly an accomplishment. Great video. Any time you can see these either of these cars is a real treat!
The SF90 XX will compare to the 750
You compare apples with pears
What amazing cars, loved filming this Mark 😊 for me rh McLaren please 😂
The engineering required to make the 296 a true competitor performance-wise with the 765 while actually being more comfortable to drive and use regularly leads me to a completely different conclusion than the reviewer. As a 296GTB owner, I never even considered the 765LT. Fine cars but, I don't see them as competitors, and if they were, I'd give the win to the 296. Also a more subjective question of the Ferrari being supremely tasteful and the McClarens being a bit garish.
You should drive the DB12
I have featured the GT12 on the channel
what about 675LT? you had a chance to drive one?
the lightweight feeling of the 765LT, it's almost like an open wheel racer. so pure without the hybrid also. it's like a senna without the downforce... and easier to drive on-road. also, nothing beats mclaren steering system with the still pneumatic feel.
You should know Ferrari makes the best steering system. The world knows.
@@sandrianjoseph6175 that's not my experience. mclaren's electrically assisted pneumatic is more feelsome. ferrari generally feels too light too me, and not as much feedback. porsche still has not caught up to either, in general entire vw group cars even Lambo have not got the feel right.
Also the 296 is not comparable to the lt version tho
Anyone know the interior color of that 296?
Late to this party, but have drven and tested both, but only own the 296 GTS. Had an F12, several 458s, 488s and a Pista. Still have a 488 Spider as well as 296 GTS. Just sold my Taycan Turbo S. It's always going to split opinion, but they are both excellent cars. In the end it was practicality and dealer/maintenance network that assisted my choice...
Ultimately, I’d buy a 675 Spyder, save some money, and enjoy appreciation rather than depreciation so from these 2 it has to be the 765
We had a 675LT Spider lined up to film but it has had some issues.... Maybe we will get one on the channel at a future date
You would have to buy the 765 second hand as they are now out of production, I believe.
that seatbelt in the mac is a nice neck cutter lol
It's what happens when your 5 ft 2" tall😢
What sounds, looks and is as fast.....Porsche GT3 :) The McLaren looks too Premiership footballer type car for me.
The GT3 doesn't come with the roof down as an option, but I am a big fan of the 991.2 Speedster.
I’ve owned several 6-10 yr old Ferraris, which were great. Who is going to want an old hybrid? No one.
765LT all day everyday including weekends, holidays and sick days. Not even a valid question. Next.
For it to be a great daily, the hybrid side doesn't even need to be 165 hp for me, 1/5 at 32 hp would be enough to get out of city limits, albeit driving sluggishly. A smaller battery would also suffice, just a dependable 5 km would be life changing for most loud supercar drivers, at least, in terms of being a daily. It would be compared to other PHEV supercars though, and look like the ugly duckling of the lot. Despite being way most useful than the LaFerrari that set the RWD hybrid trend for the brand.
The great thing about the 296 GTS is that it recharges when you are driving, so you always have the electric motor charged for when you need it.
@@888mf4 Motors aren't charged, batteries are ;-) I like having good EV range for when it's needed. In the end, it's just fuel burnt elsewhere so pure undiluted greenwashing virtue signaling, just the way I like it :-D
I’d still choose the 296 all day. (Sorry McClaren)! It just looks so subtle!
Ferrari all day long for me
I think it is the better daily driver.
How does this comparison make sense, two absolutely different cars from totally different classes and purposes, can't see anyone who'd think of buying the one will see the other as alternative
What’s the interior colour on he 296 ?
I think it is called Cuoio
Good lord what a day wowsers
I think answer is one has to have both.
Nothing is touching the LT
The 765LTS is probably the last of a breed. A twin turbo V8. Such a special car.
Because the 296 beats It, there's the video
LT gets destroyed by the 296 and SF90
@@BruceKent00 those have electric lol. Around a track they would get swolled. They aren’t even half as fun to drive as the McLaren and sf90 is just a complete fail. Heavy the feel and the sound which it has none
@dnice362 the Artura has electric and would get annihilated by the 296 and the SF90. As for the 765Lt, put is up against the SF90XX which is the true competitor for the 765Lt and watch the 765Lt get demolished in every single aspect. It wouldnt even be close.
I'd take the Rarri
Would you take it in Blu Pozzi?
❤ thank you for the video , i wanted this comparison as i am in a dilemma :) The 296GTS is a GT vehicle and i can indeed drive it every day .The same is with my GTC speed . Now the new dilemma is between the Ultiamae Roadster ( a little more expensive) and the 765LT spider
Glad you enjoyed. The 765LT Spider was one of the most exciting cars I've ever driven. In the UK they are around £375,000 on the used market and holding. The only car that I can think of that comes close is the Aventador SV Roadster as it has the looks and the sound.
Did he really just say the 296 is a GT?
Seriously?
It sits between a supercar and hypercar.
I’m flabbergasted with that comment.
765lt all day
That would be my choice if it was for weekend use only
I absolutely love the mcclaren a d agree it's mush more exiting to drive but you can't use it every day where as the ferrari ypu could use every day its just not as exciting to drive not saying its a bad car just does not give ypu the same feeling as the mcclaren
That was also my conclusion. The 765LT Spider would make a great weekend toy. The 296 GTS a great daily driver.
Not exactly a 2018 white Ford Ka. Nice cars, though.
The McLaren is like a space ship, I would guess as a child most would opt for the McLaren as a poster on their bedroom wall, everything about it looks wild. The Ferrari far more conservative but so stylish, I totally agree with your assessment on both cars and considering I’m British BUY BRITISH if your wallet is thick enough ….. The new McLaren 750 has to be on your Chanel…. Great content …..
296 another level, mclanch is boring and unreliable
@@MarcSob22 You need to get the shit out of your eyes …..
When a McLaren works it is something very special. Remember that McLaren have 183 F1 victories. That's a lot of technological knowhow. The air brake in particular is pretty special to watch in your rear view mirror. I love both cars but for drama and a sense if occasion the 765LTS wins this battle.
not to be negative, but here it comes,,, to many non informative superlative wow wow wows and not enough pure description on actual feel, cornering, brakes, etc...
I love the Ferrari hard top more. However once you remove the roof the McLaren with the carbon chassis takes it for me.
The carbon tub in the McLaren has a lot of advantages. Weight is one of them and more composure once the roof is down.
While the 296 is no doubt an exceptional car, like almost every other Ferrari, I do not like the look of them at all… Except from the side. The side profile is beautiful. Absolutely hate the front end of it, the headlights… And the back end of it, including the tail lights, are horrendous looking! I think so many other supercars/hyper cars are way better looking.
McLaren 765 LT looks way better… Not even close
Can you imagine if McLaren made cars that were reliable. All other supercar makers would be out of business
mclaren its soing what ferrari did with 488 and pista and f8 now with 720s 765lt and 750s but ferrari really went to far with sf90 296gtb sf90xx 812competicione really made masterpiece
Maclaren all day!
Considering McLaren have hardly been around, impressive.
Maybe it was unfair to put the 765LTS next to a hybrid but either way the McLaren was intoxicating.
@@888mf4 I barely watch many car RUclipsrs any more, most become really annoying, but I think your reviews are the best.
I do love the 296. It's the best-looking modern Ferrari in a very long time. But I think I'd still take Big Mac
I really enjoyed driving both, but I'd also take the 765LT Spider on this occasion. It just delivers on every level. The Ferrari would make a great daily driver though. It's very smooth and easy to drive.
@@888mf4I'm sure they're both great - but yeah, the 765 lt would be the car I'd go with between these two. But I would take the 296 over the Artura for sure
However the Ferrari here is just the base version
Good luck with walking into the Ferrari dealerships to get a new Ferrari 296 GTS.
maclaren all the way
I will take the Ferrari any day.
I call the 296 Ferrari baby car
Compared to the F355, the 296 is utterly bland in looks. Without the badge to identify it, it could be a Honda or Toyota.
The interior is very nice tho.
Absolutely 100% the mclaren
Hey i know this guy
765lt its great but ferrari its so ahead with all new cars mclaren its lost now with the new v6 hybrid mclaren and the 750s
The 765LT is the limited edition one, not the base, so for sure it’s more visceral than the Ferrari. This comparison does not make so much sense
Drug race them?
We will be filming some drag races soon. If you look back at the channel we have already featured a 765LT.
@@888mf4 We haven't seen 296 GTBs drag racing in your channel, would love to see that! :)
That white on the McLaren is gross; who the hell would spec white on any supercar, whatsoever
I'm usually all Ferrari, but i never clicked with the 296s design. It looks modest and understated. Almost like a 911. A Ferrari needs drama and flamboyance. The McLaren on the other hand has those attributes in spades!🤯
If one wants a track car, then it’s the 765LT. But it comes with harsh ride quality and buzzing, rattles in the car and there are times the ac stops working after a trackday. I’ve driven several and they all have this ‘unfinished’ quality to the car, much like a race car. One might was well get a race car. The 296 GTS is a finished car. No rattles, great ride quality, and EVERYTHING works, no matter how hard one drives it.
Wait till the 296 Speciale comes out, then compare that to the 765 LT. It’ll make the Mac feel like a bicycle.
kind of a useless comparison. one is a track car with plates on it and the other is a daily drive.
If you take the 765, sf90 and 296 on the track. The Mclaren will probably lap both within 8 laps
How,the 296 GT3 version won the 24h Nurburgring so the normal version could certainly hang up with the 765
McLaren front end is seriously ugly, needs to be rethought completely
Nope.
Most useless comparison. Why not compare a Rolls vs a LT
Both cars have three commonalities. 1. Same price now 2. Same top speed 3. Similar acceleration
@@888mf4 can compare anything but they aren’t rivals. Two different generations.
Both are a bit ugly sorry. Great review more please.
Looks are subjective
@@888mf4 True
ferraris used to be works of art to look at...they are building some real uggs now, they really need to reemploy Pininfarina...i work right next to a ferrari dealership and they are ALL ugly af.
Yes, not all of them are classic in the looks department, but I strongly disagree on the 296. I think it is probably the most beautiful car available today. Plus, the GTS is also one of the only convertibles that looks as good, top up, as the coupe version.
I don't think you could say a 296 GTS is ugly. However, it is not as alluring as a Ferrari F40 or 288 GTO.
@@888mf4 it's the rear ends i think are ugly including the 296...ferarri's are getting like lambo's 700hp blocks of cheese...where are the curves the arches the flowing lines? the 296 is fairly pretty up front but nowhere near as beautiful as a 488...the last pretty ferarri in my opnion is the F8 tributo...after that i don't know wtf ferarri are playing at...doesn't matter to me i won't ever own one but i've always loved ferarri's over lambo's for the aesthetics...mclaren beat both italian houses now.
The Pininfarina were maybe sexier but the current Ferrari bodies are much more aerodynamic … And for a racing car, that’s the most important.
@@888mf4 I agree, those are legends for sure, but it's pretty attractive for a "base" Ferrari, IMO.
Sorry, but in comparison to the 296 GTS the McLaren is so ugly. I don’t like the styling at all - it always reminds me of a cockroach 😂
Shame the McLaren looks like a dog's breakfast.
The Ferrari all day. Mclarens look like crap
